Welcome to Robotics

Welcome all team members and parents to our first year of robotics with team 6544. A-Team Robotics is eager to get started building and planning for our next competition. We look forward to working as a team and getting to know everyone. With your support I know we can make this first year a very successful year.

The A-Team Robotics Team is part of a multinational organization called FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). FIRST is made up of FIRST Robotics Competition, FIRST Tech Challenge, FIRST Lego League, and Junior FIRST Lego League. These programs are an educational career-molding experience for as many as 400,000 students from over 50 countries with over 37, 000 robots and more than 131 competitions ranging in different levels annually. It is a non-profit organization supported by more than 200,000 volunteers with a goal of inspiring young people towards science and technology.

High school-aged teams compete head to head on a special playing field with robots they have designed, built, and programmed. The excitement of sport, the rigors of science.

Under strict rules, limited resources, and the guidance of volunteer mentors including engineers, teachers, business professionals, parents, alumni and more, teams of 25+ students have just six weeks to build and program robots to perform challenging tasks against a field of competitors. They must also raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and perform community outreach. In addition to learning valuable STEM and life skills, participants are eligible to apply for $25+ million in college scholarships.
